If you qualify for Medicaid, Child Health Plus, or the Essential Plan, or have a qualifying event (such as loss of coverage, marriage, divorce, etc.), you can enroll any time during the year.
Open enrollment (no qualifying event needed) happens annually between November 16th and December 15th for an effective date on January 1st.

We offer enrollment assistance in Qualified Health Insurance for individuals, families, sole proprietors, and gig workers. This includes 1099 workers, retirees, and those eligible for financial assistance. You may have health insurance with your employer and your children may be eligible for Child Health Plus at a cost lower than you pay now. The Chamber has been providing health insurance enrollment assistance since 1938!

The Chamber offers enrollment assistance regardless of age, from most every insurance carrier that serves our region, including Excellus, Fidelis, and MVP Health Care. Enrollment is also available through the NY State of Health Marketplace, which is the only place to obtain employer tax credits, advanced premium tax credits for individuals and families, Essential Plans, Child Health Plus, and Medicaid.
